UPDATE

2026/04/16
Virtual Female Chorus Featival website OPEN!

Your rehearsal room will become a global concert stage.

Enjoy singing. —more freely, and more widely. We invite you to a new festival where choir lovers from all over the world gather online. The venue is YouTube. No passports or long travels are required. All you need is a "current video" ---recorded within the past 12 months--- of your choir performance. This is a celebration to forge "bonds" that transcend borders and language barriers. Let’s share our harmonies through the screen with friends we have yet to meet. We look forward to receiving entries from all around the world.

Eligibility & Participation

What kind of choirs can participate?

A. Any female choral group is welcome, regardless of your group's background or name —whether you are a workplace, school/club, or a group of friends.

Is there a limit on the number of members?

A. There is no limit. We welcome any group from small ensembles to large choirs. Singers are welcome to perform with or without a conductor or accompanist.

Can male singers participate?

A. Yes. However, male singers must make up less than 20% of the total number of members. All singers must perform according to the original pitch indicated in the musical score (in the designated octave).

Video & Recording

Can we use a video recorded with a smartphone?

A. Yes, absolutely! In addition to the quality of the image and the sound, capturing the group's atmosphere and the "joy" of your performance is also important. Since today’s smartphones offer high resolution, you may submit a video shot with a smartphone that is fixed on a tripod or a similar device.

Can we submit a video from a past concert?

A.To showcase your "latest performance," we ask that the video be recorded within the past 12 months. Please show us who you are today—whether it’s from a recent concert or a video filmed at your usual practice space specifically for this entry.

Are we allowed to edit our video?

A. Yes, you are! You are welcome to include cuts, subtitles (lyrics and/or group name), or special opening performances. Of course, unedited videos filmed from a fixed camera are also very welcome.

Festival

What happens during the "Online Festival"?

A. It is an online event that connects selected groups with our guest adjudicators. On the day of the festival, selected choirs will receive live feedback from adjudicators and enjoy the opportunity to interact with other groups across different regions.
